CHAIRMAN'S CHATTER |
Feb 05 More
information regarding the layouts needs to be added to our website,
layout managers please note! The
Peter James Trophy was awarded at the Club Dinner to Mike Boyle for
the girder bridge on the Itchen Vale 4mm layout. Well done Mike. OO
gauge Matters Work on the buildings continues and examples have been
seen at the Show and Tell meetings. Rich has produced a sequence for
running sessions in an attempt to avoid chaos. EM
gauge Matters Wok progresses slowly. The last baseboard is being prepared for erection after April 17th when the O gauge layout’s number 10 board can be removed for a while. O
gauge Matters Work
progresses towards getting the layout to a state where we can take it
to Otterbourne in April. The curtain colour has had to be changed to
that which is available other than black and we are very grateful to
Jill for the production of the curtain. Fitting will be by Velcro
strip and the curtain will be in two or three sections to aid fitting
etc. The change in colour may mean a re-paint of the facia at a later
date! An
extra safeguard has been installed to avoid the mystery disappearance
of trains from Abbotstone to the fiddle yard when only a shunt move
was intended. A spare lever is being used to add an “advanced
starter” to the signalling. Only when this lever is pulled The
MPD for use at exhibitions has been built and will allow up to four
locos to be stored. The tunnel entrances have been rebuilt together with the girder bridge over the MPD/Canal Junction tracks. Detailing of this area is now required. Other
Business The summer party this year is on Saturday 18th June at Rob and Fern’s house. Please note the date in your diaries NOW.
