About us:

Winchester Railway Modellers have been together for over 60 years. The first meeting was called on the 15th July 1959. 14 persons attended and agreed to form the 'Winchester and District Model Railway Club'. Meetings were, and still are, held on Wednesdays.

The WRM members enjoy a wide range of interests in real and model railways, ranging from pre-grouping through narrow gauge to modern image in gauges T, N, P4, EM,  NG7, OO and O in both analogue and DCC operation.  Skills include scratch building locomotives and building, kit building in various materials, locomotives, rolling stock and buildings.  Members are also adept at figure painting and weathering, as well as using templot and arduinos to design and control layouts.

We attend exhibitions in the south, but can go further a-field, so you may bump into us wherever you are. At exhibitions not only do we bring along one of our layouts, occasionally we show off our knowledge of modelling skills, with demonstrations and tips available to the public.

If you are interested in becoming a member of WRM, then you can contact either our chairman, or our secretary. They will be more than pleased to help you and answer any queries you may have and arrange visits. Contact details can be found on the contact page, or click here for an email enquiry.
