Chairman’s Chatter
We successfully exhibited Redbridge Wharf at
Alexandra Palace with very good comments made to us at the show and ‘social
media’ comments since. It was hard work for all, and I would like to thank
again EVERYONE who was involved and who made it an excellent outing. Roll on
Warley!
Exhibitions are becoming more frequent and this is
all good advertising for the club, especially the more local shows.
00 Gauge Matters
Thanks to a huge club
effort Redbridge Wharf enjoyed a highly successful outing at Alexandra Palace,
with public perception continuing to be one of amazement at what we have
achieved. A big thank you to all club members who contributed in some way to
this notable achievement, even if you were not part of the show. We look now
towards another big show in November at Warley. A feedback and learning points
meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 20th April, details to follow.
EM gauge matters
I would like to repeat my thanks to those who have
expressed their interest in getting Morgan Porth to exhibition at Micheldever Station on the 8th of May. Earlier in
the year we proved the basic electric circuits were still working after its
layover. We have only a few Wednesdays from now to get the layout fit for showing!
The organiser is working on
a plan to have the layout at the Station itself.
0 Gauge matters
I have omitted the usual 7mm running evenings for
April and May as we shall be prioritising the repairs to the scenery from the
rear of the layout. Hopefully we can then return the layout to its normal
position. During the next few weeks, I would like a firm decision on the
changing of the ‘loom’ arrangements with a view to lightening the ‘enigma’ to
ease movement etc. In moving the layout around we can also continue with the
lightening of the baseboards.
Other Business.
As you will now know I am
in touch with Swanage to arrange another club outing, with a view to visit the
signal box whilst there. I am waiting for more planning details from the
contact to plan timings a bit better and also their timetable has yet to be
announced in detail
