OO Gauge Matters Wiring & Control
On the scenic section, final
testing has been completed on the control panel and associated wiring.
A DCC District Cutout (MERG kit) will be incorporated to protect the
yard.
Scenery and StructuresWork has commenced on cutting the
“foam” base to accommodate the abutments on the rail bridge
over the causeway. Similarly, the large road viaduct bridge has been
positioned.
Scenic Section TrackworkThe Romsey route Trackwork has been laid and requires ballasting.
The 3rd RailIt has not been possible to find photographs showing the 3rd rail system in place at our time period.
The positioning of the 3rd rail on the up and down mainlines and crossover have been determined. based on current practice Research has been carried out on the components of the system, being: the 3rd rail itself, the 3rd rail insulators, safety boards, cables and power cabinets etc. PECO Code 60 rail and PECO insulators are not expected to be used and work is underway to develop a more realistic and robust system.
