July 2019 Chairman’s Chatter Final arrangements are now being put in place for
our trip on the Swanage line. On arrival at Swanage, I propose to take a group
photograph near the locomotive so we should all make our way to the end of the
platform on arrival and gather there. If we fail then we shall attempt it on
the return hoping to catch the loco on arrival at Swanage before running
around. 00 Gauge Matters
Room Clean Up “Clean up” has continued and items that
are no longer required are being disposed of.. Control Systems Work has included to some amendments of
the control systems that will improve power reliability. The Redbridge Lighting System A focus group from the 00
team have purchased components including LED lighting that attach to the new ightweight
aluminium gantry. The components have been designed
and are underway with installation. The result will be a speedy and reliable
construction when away from our railway room when installed at exhibitions. Train and Stock Running Members have been running stock including
locos, wagons and coaches. Most locos have DCC chips and many others with
sound. Redbridge Works Buildings etc. Work that has been undertaken include: ·
The large transformer buiding has been constructed and rests disguising a baseboard join just
west of the down main line following the junction to Salisbury etc. · A modified arrangement near the foundry will house the previously removed foundry output (chairs, etc.), and Jeff’s new pattern shop · The reclaim area is being expanded..·
Still to do is the rebuild of the area behind the
foundry, into storage wasteland (old sleepers, etc.). RMWeb: click here or enter - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/58444-wrm-redbridge-wharf/ EM gauge matters Following our exhibition
attendance at Horsham, a post event 'to do list' was produced by two members.
From that list the platform track repair has been done with help from Tony, and
the section re-ballasted. The Morden stone was also applied around the platform
starter signals. This enabled the base
boards to be reassembled, this time the other way around with the public side
against the wall. Levels were checked as part of that process. There
are many more physical items and operating factors yet to be addressed
Other Business.
Please note the change of activities at the club in
July following our day out.
